For the last 5-ish years, I have volunteered with an organization called Think Humanity. TH works to make life better for refugees in Uganda by providing many services, including employment opportunities.
One of these employment opportunities is creating upcycled paper bead jewelry. Apparently, creating these paper beads are a hobby for many Ugandan women, and they also make use of paper that otherwise would just end up in a landfill. On Saturday, I modeled a few pieces made by Acholi women Think Humanity works with. Throughout the week, some of these pieces will be posted on Think Humanity’s Etsy shop.
These are all really great pieces. They bring employment and empowerment to awesome and talented women in Uganda, and they are more affordable than other jewelry options.
